Elementary, Middle and High School had the opportunity of gaining more life skills by learning to sew!
Each student sewed their own pencil case. The skills taught were: Cutting, pinning, threading a needle, tying a knot, sewing a running stitch, double stitch, backstitch and hemstitch. Despite some frustrating moments of tangled thread, zigzag sewing and pricked fingers, the overall results were really great!
Please see their pencil cases on the front entrance bulletin board. Well done everyone, you should be proud of your accomplishment – you’re now one more step closer to independence. If you join the army or attend university, you’ll be better prepared having this handy skill ready to use when necessary!
