4th Grade's Orphan Fundraiser a Grand Success!

A HUGE thank you - gracias to Anthony, Arianna, Carlos, Roxana and Salvatore of Fourth Grade as well as to all the teachers, students and parents who contributed to making our Fundraiser a great success! We raised a grand total of 484,900. BS from selling Jello, doing work around the house/garden to earn money and receiving donations.

With this money we were able to shop today as a class and buy nineteen Christmas presents for the orphans of Casa Hogar Nazareth, ranging in age from three to seventeen,(Tracky has some great sales - 40% discount off toys).

Fourth Grade had a lot of fun, and an important life lesson was learned- it is a wonderful feeling reaching out and sharing, it enriches so many more lives!
It also makes us realize how fortunate we are with the fulfilling lives we have and the families we share it with.
This is the goal I set out to achieve with this project: By making the Jello, promoting and selling it, and working at home to earn extra money; followed by saving and counting the money. Then came the fun part - going shopping!! The students had to figure out what they could buy with the amount they had! This allowed them to learn across the curriculum and in a fun, interactive way, skills they will hopefully carry with them as they continue to grow and gain more responsiblity.

Thank you again for supporting such a worthy cause, muchos gracias. We in Fourth Grade would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas with your families and a peaceful and restful holiday too! See you on Monday, January 7th, 2008.
